Shakuntala Devi once said ‘What is Mathematics? It is just a systematic attempt to solve the riddles created by nature. Former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh declared this day as National Mathematics Day on 26 February 2012, when he was visiting Madras University to pay tribute to Ramanujan’s achievements and celebrated his 125th birth anniversary. Since then, 22 December is celebrated as the National Mathematics Day of India.
